It wouldn’t be right to offer this review of Children of the Corn without admitting to a rather embarrassing prejudice. While I have always enjoyed adaptations of Stephen King’s more grounded stories (The Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me, Hearts in Atlantis, Misery, and even The Green Mile immediately spring to mind.), the film adaptations of his more fantastic horror stories usually don’t appeal to me.
